Scanning built in, or standalone
Most of the MFPs we sell include network scanning, and many have single-pass document feeders that scan both sides of a page at once. For many offices, that’s all the scanner you need.
If you scan heavily, or need scanning at a desk away from the copier, a dedicated scanner may be the better fit.
